These Terms of Use govern your use of todayinthechurch.com (the “Site”), operated by JY Concepts, based in New York, USA. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
What the Site offers
Today in the Church is a free reference for the Catholic liturgical day in the United States: the day’s celebration, the rosary mysteries, fasting and abstinence, and holy days of obligation. We may change, add or remove features at any time.
Accuracy and church rules
Pages are computed automatically from the liturgical calendar and the general norms of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Code of Canon Law, with a link to the source on each rule. We work to keep them correct, but errors can happen, and your diocese may have its own dispensations or dates. The Site is not a substitute for your bishop, diocese or parish. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.
Scripture and readings
Scripture quoted on the Site is from the Douay-Rheims Bible, which is in the public domain. Daily readings are linked to the USCCB website and are not copied here.
Using and sharing content
You may share links, share images and short quotes from the Site for personal and non-commercial use, including in parishes and schools, and print the rosary card for the same purposes.
What you may not do
- Scrape or copy the Site in bulk, or use bots to access it, except search engines indexing it normally.
- Submit other people’s email addresses to our signup form, or try to get around our spam protection.
- Interfere with the Site, its security or its hosting.
- Use the Site for anything illegal.
Daily email
If you sign up, we will email you once a day when the daily email starts. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by writing to us. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your email address.
Our content
Apart from public-domain Scripture and calendar data, the Site’s design, writing, images and name are owned by JY Concepts.
Other websites and services
The Site links to and uses services from others (such as Cloudflare, Google and social networks). We aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
No warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and online but don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, JY Concepts is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Because the Site is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to US $50.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will post changes here and update the date above. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
